Default Can I use FORFILES command in the windows xp shell?

Every time I try to use it I get this error:

'forfiles' is not recognized as an internal or external command,
operable program or batch file.

I've also tried it in all caps and with only the first letter capitalized. I downloaded a resource kit form microsoft and rebooted and still have the same results. I have a folder full of files, I need to run the same command on every one of them, I know this can be done in linux. Thanks for any help.
