Windows XP loading screen stuck. : (?

What happened:
-I took out the video card on my XPS 600 to look at it
-Put the card back in perfectly, everything connected
-Turned the computer on

After I turned the computer on, it went to the Windows loading page with the blue bar. The bar keeps moving and it never makes it to the log-in screen.

-I can go into safe mode.

2 GB RAM


I didn't remove the power cord, but it turned it off.

Did you remove the PC power cord when you removed the Video Card - or does your power supply have a rocker switch on it that you turned off?

If not you may have fried your Video card - so now it only works in very basic VGA mode in Safe Mode.

If you can boot into safe mode, go to Device Manager and disable your Display adapter. Windows will boot normally but your graphics will be in VGA mode until this is properly fixed.
