Default Does Windows XP have any Hard Drive capacity limits?

I have tried to install XP Professional on a 750 GB once and after it copies the initial files I get this error on the first reboot "Error loading operating system". I installed windows Vista Ultimate and it installed perfectly. I recently tried to install XP Pro x64 edition on a 1TB (TeraByte) HDD and I had the same error. Again I installed Vista and it worked perfectly. What HDD limit does XP have to prevent installing it on some hard drives?
