Default Default email client in Windows Vista disconnects after receiving email?

The little ticky-box that reads: Disconnect after sending/receiving email is UNCHECKED. Dial-up connection.

This is on a dial-up connection (my mom's computer). Her local ISP tells her she must bring her laptop in to get serviced.

Is there an easier way to fix this annoying problem, of having to reconnect every time she gets an email?
