Default A Siding and Window company is trying to screw me.........?

A few years ago I had All my windows in my house, (21) of them, replaced......a life-time, no question's asked warranty,,,,,, I was even told, " If your mowing your yard and a rock breaks a window, we come out and replace it free of charge"............ Anyhow, Guess what, after several years I finally had a window break......... I contact the company, they send me back some forms to fill out,,,,,,, in these forms it say's I must have the original contract, and pictures of the damaged window... Well i have misplaced or lost the contract,,, now the company refuses to do anything at all.........My question is what can I do???
Paul........Yea, I know who installed my windows,, I even said in my question that , " I contacted the company and they sent me some forms........" also it Is a transferable contract
Bugear..........No shit!, but that is not helpful

get a copy of your canceled check and ask the company to check their records for that date/time. If that doesn't help, contact the better business bureau and file a complaint.

Who did the installation? Was it a contractor? If you can remember who that was, they may have your contract on file somewhere and can provide you a copy. Otherwise, you're pretty much at their mercy. If they require a copy of the contract and you can't come up with it, how can you prove that you were the person who purchased the windows and had them installed (warranties like that are usually not transferable)?

Looks like your out-a-luck unless you can find the original contract. Should have made sure you kept it in a safe place where you could find it.

you cant blame others for your foolish mistakes. you should have maintained the papers.
pay for the repairs now and try to get the copy of your contract from the company on whatever justified payment for the future or call an insurance company for future coverage
