Why do people put up with crummy ISP's? Look I don't care what it is, if some place I use the services of doesn't cut the mustard for me, I get on with some company that does. I had Earthlink for dialup and their install CD crashed my Mac, (the first and only time anything ever made it crash too!) and then after a trip to the Apple Store for a courtesy HD wiping and OS reload, off I was sputtering down the internet, pages timing out before they finished loading and ihhssh'. Then I bought wireless broadband with Clearwire, and I plugged it in and I was online in under 10 minutes. I have used them ever since. I get so tired of hearing of people I know and friends complaining of their Comcast internet screwing up and their Verizon being out pretty regularly, but why do they all endure it? I thought one of (if not the only) beauty of a free market is that you are dissatisfied with one provider of a service, there are others which are potentially better. In my case I wanted reliable quick internet that didn't suck, and now I do!
I didn't say any one certain ISP was good, I just don't see how people stay with the lame unreliable ones. |
