One day I was using my keyboard and the keys suddenly started producing french characters on my word document. I figured the keyboard setting was switched to french from american english (canadian) b/c my cat had walked across it prior to this happening. But the setting still says it is on American English. I've tried switching it back and forth but it does nothing. Often when I turn off the computer and back on (or restart) it goes back to English but after a couple hours of use, goes to French again! Any ideas!?!

Have your cat walk back and forth across the keyboard again. Should be all set! update: darnit, too slow with the "have you cat walk across it" joke. Oh well, onto the next question.

when you change it back to English make sure English is set as the default language, if that fails you could always get your cat to walk across it again ;-)
