Default Whats the difference between a 'Optical Drive' and a 'Hard Drive'?

I'm thinking of purchasing a laptop, and I'm not sure whats the difference between them.

Optical drive is your CD/DVD drive

Hard drive is the magnetic drive (usually fixed and larger capacity)
