I'm a student deciding on which laptop to get.?

Alright, so i'm debating on whether to buy a Macbook or a HP laptop.

Here are the specs for the 2.4GHz Macbook i'm thinking about buying. http://www.apple.com/macbook/specs.html
along with the macbook, i can get an iPod touch for free...some deal they're offering.

Then, here's the HP laptop i'm thinking of buying.

I just need a laptop for daily use...basically checking/sending emails. Taking notes during class. I need it to be an on-the-go laptop since i'll be carrying it wherever i go. Please! help!
Well..right now, i'm sort of leaning towards the Macbook. if you think there is ANY laptop that is better, performance and finance-wise...then go ahead and suggest it. it'll be a great help =]
