Default Dual Monitor Advice?

My question is regarding setting up dual monitors.

I've wanted this for a while but one thing I'm picky about is that I want two of the same monitor.....I don't have a problem with going and buying 2 new ones but here's the question:

Do I go standard or widescreen?

I would buy at least 21" or bigger when it comes to size...I'm just not sure if my computer will run the widescreen monitors without distorting the picture somehow. I do tons of work in Excel and keep my resolution at 1280 X 1024 as it is....I can't deal with anything being streched or distorted in anyway.

My graphics card is a NIVIDIA Quadro FX 570M that I know supports dual monitors....I've just never used a wide-screen monitor to know if it will distort the picture at all...

Advice?

I'll take advice on which monitors to buy as well! )
